Hi friends,

I'm really not sure how many people will see this post, but I felt the need to forward this info to as many people as I could. Recently a young couple from Arizona (friends of my brother and sister in law) were involved in a horrible plane crash. They have 4 small children who are now with their extended family and Stephanie and Christian are in a hospital in Arizona. For more information on them and more details, go to cjanerun.com. Tomorrow over 90 blog sites will be hosting silent auctions for Stephanie and Christian. The organizer of this effort is Gabrielle at designmom.com. There will be all sorts of things auctioned off and it is a really moving cause. This family is in desperate need of all of the financial support it can get for a long recovery process. Finds - Day 6

Ok, so I was thinking that I was starting the week on Monday when it was actually Sunday, so I owe the blog one more day of fabulous finds.  I was on the fence about throwing this one in the mix - I mean it's not furniture, and I'm not sure that I should be advertising how much I'm enjoying the thrift store experience.  For the most part, everything that you see is junk - and dirty junk on top of it.  But once in a while, there are treasures to be found.  On this particular day in the 100+ degree heat,  I went straight to the dry cleaners. I am looking forward to at least one day cold enough to warrant the $30 that I've invested in this spectacular coat!!

Lately I've been a little ocd on ebay / etsy / etc. finding artists. I love going to art galleries, but usually don't have the funds for the art that I drool over. So, in the last few years, I've done some art buying online. A few of my original art purchases have been from ebay - although it really requires the time to search for what draws you in... it is well worth it. Some friends have been pretty amazed by what I've found. So I did some searching and have a few items to share. I admit that the first 2 are actually things that I've bought, but the rest are still out there for the taking. They always say "only buy art if you love it" - it may never be worth much, but if it makes your day every time you look at it, I'd say go for it.
